Bernice C. Burkhart fell asleep in death peacefully on June 1, 2014 at her home as a result of Alzheimer's disease. Her dear friends Louise and Sharon were by her side. She was born October 27, 1927 in Hamilton, North Carolina to William and Fannie Perry. Bernice pursued a career as a surgical nurse after graduating from St. Vincent-DePaul School of Nursing at the age of 20. Bernice became one of Jehovah's Witnesses and later graduated from Watchtower Bible School of Gilead in 1960. She served faithfully as a domestic missionary in eight different states. She continued her mission work until she died. She was an excellent Bible teacher, touching the lives of people since 1955. She was dearly loved by all who met her.
Bernice was preceded in death by 4 siblings; she is survived by her sister Irma Reynolds, and her brother William Herbert Perry II both of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
