Bernard Young Drewry

Bernard Young Drewry, 91, passed away November 27, 2016 at Homestead Assisted Living & Memory Care, in Owasso, Oklahoma.

Bernard was born November 23, 1925 in Witt Springs, Arkansas to Elick Drewry and Nettie (Akins) Drewry, their youngest of four. In 1950 Bernard joined the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and served in Germany. He had many stories of his life in the military. He married Wanda Fountain in February of 1953 and had one child, Bernetta Hefley, of Harrison, AR. In August 1977, God blessed him with a second wife, Iola Melton Drewry of Ozark, Missouri. In addition, he also gained another daughter, Peggy Brodersen of Tulsa, OK. Bernard was a truck driver by trade and made deliveries for Coca-Cola, Arnold Oil Company, and CE Martin.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Elick and Nettie Drewry; brother, Bruce Drewry; brother, Boyd Drewry; sister, Lois Pack; and wife, Iola Drewry who passed September 18, 2016.
He is survived by his daughter, Bernetta Hefley of Harrison, AR; step-daughter, Peggy Brodersen of Tulsa, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Cassandra Brown; grandsons, John David Hefley and Chris Vance; greatgrandchildren, Carly and Ethan Brown, and Tara and Alyssa Hughes.

A joint memorial Service for Bernard and Iola will be held, Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Northvale Baptist Church, 310 Adams, Harrison, AR 72601.
