Belva Jean Folsom, a resident of Okmulgee, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the age of 82. She was born October 6, 1929 to Please May and Minnie (Few) Smith in Talihina, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Deliverance Tabernacle in Okmulgee. Belva was an avid reader and a seamstress. She worked as a CNA and was very active in her church. She loved having her grandchildren around and loved having people around so she could cook for them. She was well loved by everyone that knew her and she will be remembered for her infectious laughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Folsom; two sons, Dwayne Derald Folsom and Billy Arnold Folsom; parents, May and Minnie Smith; two sisters, Verla Barbee and Bea Taylor; three brothers, Jerrell, Jim and Ray Smith. Survivors include her two daughters, Norma Hubbard of Okmulgee and Jan Hart and husband, Monty of Council Hill; two sisters, Erma Mizell and husband, James of Wichita Falls, TX and Sue Risenhoover and husband, Wendy of Quinton, OK; one brother, Arnold Smith of Sand Springs; two sister-in-laws, Oleta Pilgrim and husband, J.W. of Quinton and Nowassia Denny and husband, Harley of Quinton; grandchildren, Rodney Folsom of Woodward, Dulayna and Houston Murray of Sallisaw, Julie and Vernie Thomas of Okemah, Kevin and Melissa Folsom of Cushing, Hope Hubbard of Okmulgee, Linda Hubbard of Okmulgee, Krystal Bohannon of Okmulgee, Becky Hubbard of Okmulgee, Melissa and Johnny Dreyer of Okmulgee, Amanda and Brent William of Council Hill, Monica and Justin Bowling of Checotah and Johnny Richardson of Shawnee; nineteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the Deliverance Tabernacle in Okmulgee with Reverend Steve Clark officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be Bobby Risenhoover, Danny Risenhoover, Roger Smith, Dorrin Ray Smith, Glen Smith, Jamie Smith, Jerry Pilgrim, Danny Hoyt, Mike Denny and Jim Denny.
