Beatrice Hessom

Beatrice Hessom, a resident of Morris for over 60 years, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the age of 97. She was born September 19, 1915 to James and Clara (Martindale) Kinsey in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Clara Kinsey; husband, Edward C. Hessom in 1999 and six brothers and sisters. Survivors include her two sons, E.C. Hessom, Jr. and wife, Donna of Morris and Gary Hessom of Morris; one sister, Clara Opal McCuley and husband, Gene of Sallisaw; two grandchildren, Heather Pillars and husband, Jason of Collinsville and Robin Farmer and husband, Kelly of Mannford; two great grandchildren, Wyatt Pillars and Kyle Wright; three great-great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Okmulgee with Reverend Myles R. Schultz officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be Bob Franklin, Jerry Remington, Frank Holderness, Brian Wilcox, Jeff Schmeder and James Remington.
