Barney Dale Harjo

Barney Dale Harjo, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 at the age of 60. He was born Tuesday, January 3, 1950 to Joe and Elizabeth (Stake) Harjo in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joe Harjo, Jr. and Winslow Harjo and one sister, Jorene Walker. Survivors include his daughter, Gina Harjo; one sister, Helen Grimes and two brothers, Johnny Fixico and Herman Harjo and numerous nieces and nephews. Wake Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13th and Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 14th both held at the Tallahassee Indian Methodist Church on Celia Berryhill Road. Burial will follow the service at the Stake Family Cemetery in Preston under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
