Barbara Sue Burleson was born March 14th 1940 in Seminole Oklahoma to William Leroy and Ruby L Richards. She had three younger sisters, Gladys, Betty and Georgia. In 1952 when the Burleson family moved to Wolf Oklahoma she met the love of her life, Jimmy. They were married on July 20th, 1957 and spent the next 61 years together until his passing in 2018. In the mid 70's Barbara and Jimmy owned a small café at the Jones Riverside Airport in Jenks. She eventually went on to be the Executive Secretary for Leon and Dan Stefanoff for over 20 years. She retired around the age of 55 so she could travel with Jimmy, who was an over the road truck driver.
She loved Camping/Glamping trips with the whole family, Gardening, Family Dinners/Cookouts & her Grandchildren. She also loved her Wolf Alumni Banquets where she could catch up, reunite & fellowship with her dearest friends from high school. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Jenks. She treasured her time there through Sunday School, Services, Lunches, Fellowship & most recently the occasions where they got together to play games. In early 2019 we added a very important addition to the family when she found her beloved dog, Sammy. Sammy was her faithful companion and helped her through her grieving process. She loved...she loved all but mostly she LOVED her family!
She is survived by her 4 children, Jimmy Burleson Jr and his wife Connie of Jenks, Mark Burleson and wife Ramona of Elk City, Jane Hendon and her husband David of Jenks and Lisa Reichert and husband Phil of Jenks. Grandchildren: Mathew Burleson, Brant Weaver. Kate Weaver, Derick Strong, Jennifer Kieseswetter and Alan Burleson; 17 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
