Barbara Lee Potter

Barbara Lee (McGowan) Potter, age 84, died on February 7, 2021 after a lengthy illness.

Barbara was born on August 26, 1936 in Barnsdall, OK, to parents Opal and Homer McGowan. She graduated from Barnsdall High School in 1954. She attended The University of Tulsa where she met her future husband, Bob. They eventually moved to Bartlesville where they raised their three children.

Prior to her illness, Barbara was an active member of Disciples Christian Church where she held several leadership positions. She was also a passionate supporter of the ARC Group Homes and served on various committees and as a board member. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Potter. She is survived by her daughter, Terri Glenn of San Jose, California and her two sons and their wives, Michael and Kelli Potter of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Thomas and Dana Potter of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. Additionally, she has four grandsons, one great granddaughter and one great grandson.

A private service for family will be held. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
