Avious Benavidez

On June 25, 2011, Avious L. Benevidez, 80, left this earth to join the heavenly choir. She was born August 22, 1930 to Russell and Cleo (Stanley) Bryant in Sayre, Oklahoma. Avious was an avid singer and amateur songwriter; she loved praising the Lord through hymns and gospel music. Avious enjoyed being with people, whether at church, gospel singings, holiday gatherings, or at the store, her outgoing spirit allowed Avious to make friends wherever she went. Avious loved the beauty of nature, and enjoyed fishing with her grandchildren as well as growing vegetables and flowers. Avious will be missed by a host of family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee with Reverend Leon Barnhart officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Tuskegee Cemetery in Edna under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
