A celebration of life honoring and remembering the life of Arthur James Mehre will be held 1:00 PM Monday, December 4, 2017 at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service with Pastor Don Martin officiating. Arthur went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 30, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was 68.
Art was born February 28, 1949 in Plymouth, Wisconsin. He was the son of Emmet Mehre and Pearl (Roehr) Mehre. Art was raised on a cow milking farm in Wisconsin and was a 1967 graduate from Sheboygan Fall High School. After graduation he went on to college to obtain a bachelor of science degree in engineering.
On August 3, 1969 he married the love of his life, Cynthia Louise (Hall) Mehre in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a young married couple they moved often. They spent their lives together in Wisconsin, California, Louisiana and eventually made their way to Tulsa in 1996.
Art was a very intelligent engineer. He was employed at Greenbay Packaging as an industrial engineer, Volrath, where he worked in time and method study and also spent time at Baker Hughes for over 10 years.
He was a faithful member at Metro Pentecostal Church in Tulsa, OK.
Art was an active person. He could often be found riding his bike or going for a run on Riverside. In his past years he loved to play tennis and was known to be very good at it. He used his engineering knowledge often which allowed him to fix just about anything. Art stayed true to his roots and was a huge Green Bay Packers foot ball fan. His family will remember him as analytical and organized with high integrity. Art was a honest man that was very faithful to God.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmet Mehre and Pearl (Roehr) Mehre and his sister, Muriel Mehre.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Louise (Hall) Mehre; two daughters, Jennifer McCoy and her husband, Michael, Wendy Onyango and her husband, Elijah; one son, Steven Mehre and his wife, Daniela; grandchildren, Landry McCoy, Alexis Onyango, Devyn Onyango, Charlie Onyango, EJ Onyango, Breyden Mehre, and Brody Mehre. He is also survived by three sisters, Ida Accola, Ruth Hering, and Gail Hubigregtse; and a brother, Robert Mehre.
Viewing will be held Sunday, December 3rd at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service from 2 PM to 4 PM. Interment will be after the service on Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Arthur to Metro Pentecostal Church, 8611 E 21st St., Tulsa, Oklahoma 74129.
