Arthena Gaye Young

Arthena Gaye Young was born July 24,1930 in Canute, Oklahoma to Alex "Pete" and Ruby Spradlin. She graduated from high school in Sayre, OK in 1948. She briefly attended college in Weatherford and later graduated from business school in Oklahoma City. Arthena married Victor K Young on May 5, 1951. They spent many years together in Arizona, Texas, and Oklahoma City prior to moving to Tulsa in 1971. They attended the First Christian Church in Tulsa for many years. Arthena was a homemaker and a very proud grandmother. She was famous amongst family members for crocheting and needlepoint work.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 26, 2008.

Arthena is survived by her children Vicki Thompson and husband Larry of Norcross, GA, Mitchell Young and wife Barbara of Tulsa, Pete Young and wife Randy of Jenks,
Cindy Hudzik and husband Ken of Albuquerque, NM, Elizabeth Whiteis and husband Johnny of Broken Arrow, Sandy Thompson and husband Martin of Sapulpa; her sister Ardeth Hardin of Carrollton, TX; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
