Arnold David "Dave" Plumb, 82, died on Thursday, February 16, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born in London, England to Bertie Charles and Edna Agnes (Parker). He was the youngest of five children. He attended and graduated from Swindon College with a Bachelors of Engineering. He was a member of the Royal Army, the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineering division, where he served a three year tour in Egypt. During his deployment, some of his family moved from England to the United States and Canada. David saw that there were more opportunities in the United States and moved to Chicago, Illinois.
He married Plava (Dell'Arsina) Plumb in Chicago, Illinois on October 12, 1963. The two met while working at O'Hare International Airport. In 1975, David was transferred to Tulsa, Oklahoma with FWI Corporation. His family described him as an entrepreneur and inventor. He created 5 patents for waste water disposal throughout his engineering career, and he was an inventor ahead of his time. He was a soccer enthusiast, he enjoyed playing, coaching and refereeing the sport. He was instrumental in bringing the NASL Roughnecks to Tulsa. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Soccer Hall of Fame in 2007. All his life, he loved cheering on West Ham United Football Club of London.
He will be remembered as a husband and father that was full of life and full of love. He was a man that always put his family first. David had a wicked funny sense of humor, and was a man of his word and integrity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and four siblings. Survivors include Plava Plumb of Tulsa, OK; children, Mark Plumb and wife, Carrie of Denver, Colorado, Deborah Plumb of Lewisville, Texas, Patricia Plumb of Carrollton, Texas, many nieces, nephews, and cousins and friends spanning across the United States and England. He will be greatly missed.
Viewing will be Monday, February 20, 2017, 5-7:00pm at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service. Services will be Tuesday February 21, 2017, 11:00am at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service. Private interment at Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please send donation in David's name to St. Francis Cancer Center or St. Francis Hospice.
