April Rae Pike passed away peacefully at her home in Glenpool, Oklahoma on January 22nd, 2025. Born on November 22nd, 1940, in Durant, Oklahoma, April dedicated her life to the Lord and her family.
April was a devoted wife to Bob Edward Pike. She was a resilient mother of five who obtained her teaching certificate in her 40s from Ventura Junior College, allowing her to pursue a fulfilling decades-long teaching career at TLC and other Preschools.
Her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and joyful laughter made her a beacon of light in her church and beyond. Whether it was through her heartfelt prayers, uplifting songs, encouraging words, or simple acts of kindness, April made everyone around her feel valued and loved. April's love for music was also a central part of her life; she sang in church choirs for many years, her beautiful voice lifting the hearts of all who heard it. April was also deeply proud of her Choctaw heritage and carried it in her heart as a reminder of strength and wisdom. She found joy in blending its values of community and grace with her steadfast love of Jesus.
April is survived by her children Amy Pike, Kaisa (Steve) Smith, Amanda (George) Carrera Sr., Fred (Heidi) Harrington and her grandchildren Nicki (Jake) Morrisroe, Christina (Taylor) Mottweiler, George (Christina) Carrera Jr., Ronny (Ashley) Landers, Savannah (Kyle Goldstein-Pendley) Pike, Jake Smith, Sami Smith, Trinity Harrington, thirteen great-grandchildren and many many others who will carry forward her memory and the love she so freely shared. She is preceded in death by her husband of thirty years Bob Pike and son Dameon Pike.
All who would like to honor her are welcome to attend a peaceful memorial service which will be held on Saturday the 25th of January 2025. Located at St. James Presbyterian church [11970 S. Elm St. Jenks, Oklahoma] at 2:00 PM. Followed by a celebration of life with light refreshments. A memorial service will also be held at Trinity Lutheran Church [196 N. Ashwood Ave.] in Ventura, CA at a later date.
