Anita Francine Bandy (Francine to her friends and Frannie to her family) was born June 22, 1941 and died November 20, 2022 at the age of 81. Francine was born to Bernice (Romero) and Smiley Raborn, Jr. in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She graduated from Hockaday High School in 1959 as a National Merit Finalist and continued her education at Vassar College, then at the University of Arizona. While at the University of Arizona she was a member of Delta Delta Delta (Tri Delt) sorority.
Francine married Opie Bandy in Calgary Canada in 1963. In 1967 she moved to Oklahoma where she raised her four boys. Frannie's greatest love and focus was her family and raising her four "Bandy" boys. She was extremely active in numerous organizations from the Junior League to the Tulsa Boys Home to mention a few. With a heart and passion for giving she was happy to help anyone in need. From 1983 until her death, she worked full time as a real estate agent. She had a long, successful and respected career. Her impeccable work ethic, strong relationships and dedication to her clients earned her colleagues respect and clients' trust.
Over the last 25 years she was very active in the Tulsa Home Builders Association serving on their Board, "Spike" chairman, and Chairman of the 2002 Tulsa Home and Garden Show. She also remained active in the Tri Delt Alumni Association and was recently nominated for the Tri Delt Woman Of the Year. She was extremely competitive, you can ask any of her fellow bridge partners, who she considered an extension of her family. Loved her Book Club, her numerous "Friend" and associates' groups. She never missed a social event, a broker's open, or a chance to pull out a costume from her "costume closet", loved a good raffle of any kind and always stopped for her lottery tickets and scratchers.
Francine was predeceased by her parents and her first son Opie "Bucky" Bandy, III. She is survived by her sons Benton Bandy and daughter-in-law Angie, Carter Bandy and daughter-in-law Katie and Jason Bandy and Meredith Ruhman, along with her eight cherished grandchildren Anders Bandy, Austin Soder, JJ Bandy, Justin Bandy, Jack Benton Bandy, Walker Bandy, Taylor Bandy and Beau Bandy. She is also survived by her brother Francis "Buzz" Raborn and her sister Suzanne Burns.
Francine knew that the most important thing in life was family and was devoted to hers. She made all of her children and grandchildren feel like they were her "favorite" because they all were her favorite. She also was faithful and steadfast to all of her friends and colleagues.
Francine's funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday November 29th, 2022, at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 1347 East 49th Place, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74105 with a reception to follow at the Church and the internment at Calvary Cemetery located at 91st and Harvard at 1:30 p.m.
