Amy Ellis

December 13, 1983 — March 18, 2025

Amy Michelle Ellis, 41, of Bixby, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at The Oklahoma Heart Institute in Tulsa due to complications from end-stage renal failure, heart failure, and multiple sclerosis.

Amy was born on December 13, 1983, at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida to Kevin Ellis and Kathy Combs. As an Air Force brat, she lived in several states, including Florida, Idaho, Utah, Kansas, and Oklahoma. She graduated from Northridge High School in Layton, Utah, in 2002 and later pursued a career in phlebotomy, working for the American Red Cross and BioMat Plasma Center in Utah. She later obtained her nail technology certification from Clary-Sage College in Oklahoma.

Despite facing health challenges that made Amy unable to work, Amy remained full of life and cherished the simple joys. She loved visiting the casino to "play cards" and going on shopping trips with her mom. She had a deep affection for dogs, particularly Welsh Springer Spaniels, but found a beloved companion in her English Springer Spaniel, Thunder. Together, they achieved his championship title, just two points shy of grand champion status. Amy was always up for a good scary movie, being a devoted movie fan, preferring films over regular television, with Twister and Twisters being among her all-time favorites that she watched over and over.

Amy is survived by her mother, Kathy Combs (Harold); father, Kevin Ellis (Kellie); daughter, Kennedy Wadsworth; son, Tanner Wadsworth; half-sister, Erin; stepbrother, Andrew Combs (Alison); stepsisters, Courtney and Michelle; aunts, Eva Rosencutter (Danny) and Peggy Ruble (Bill); uncles, Bruce Ellis (Julie) and Mark Ellis (Trina); and cousins, Brian Rosencutter (Courtney), Jeff Rosencutter, and Bryce Ruble (Alex).

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Harold Combs; grandparents, William and Mary Eaves and Edward and Shirley Ellis; and her beloved black Labrador, Abby.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, 1329 East 151st St., Glenpool, OK 74033. Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences online at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com.

Amy's kindness, humor, and unwavering spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
