Alice Ann Froeschle

Alice Ann Froeschle died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, of an apparent heart attack, at her residence in Jenks. Alice was born January 6, 1943 in Bismarck, North Dakota to James and Kathryn Long. She skipped her graduation ceremony at the University of North Dakota for her wedding to Rudy Froeschle in Bismarck on Jan. 25, 1964, and started her new teaching job the following Monday. Alice and Rudy celebrated 50 years of marriage this year. She taught school in North Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. In the 70s and 80s, she was the owner of Diet Centers in Wayne, Nebraska, and Ada, Oklahoma. From 2002 to 2013 she owned and managed Bandana… Tours, doing guided tours in the Tulsa area.




In all the communities where she lived, Alice was active in the arts as an actress, director, singer, and cellist. She played the lead in "Blythe Spirit," and had leading roles in "Carousel," "Fiddler on the Roof," and "South Pacific" in Wayne. In Tulsa, she had roles including Aunt Polly in "Tom Sawyer" at the Performing Arts Center and was a member of the Round the Bend Players, for whom she volunteered as an entertainer. She directed "The Three Bells of Eden" for the Players at the Heller Theater in 2006. She sang with the choir at Christ the King Church, was a member of the the Vocal Arts Ensemble of Tulsa, and was a member of the Cello Choir of Tulsa Community College.




With her husband, she was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and she was a generous donor to charities for the homeless.




Alice is survived by her husband Rudy, son Owen, daughter Nora Harris and husband Ben; grandsons Chris Robin Silberstein and Jared Cole Froeschle; sisters Mary Kathryn Lawrence, Carol Long, Suzanne Reichert, and Joanne Long; and her brother-in-law Tom McClintock. Nephews and nieces include Jason Reichert, Sara Barry, Tommy McClintock, Dr. Chris Lawrence, Dr. Naomi Lawrence, Jennifer Lawrence, and Tony and Susan Froeschle.




She was preceded in death by her son Cole Froeschle in 2012; her brother-in-law, Dr. Francis L. Lawrence, in 2013: her niece, Elizabeth Lawrence, in 2011; and her nephew,Jonathan McClintock. in 1999.


A rosary and visitation is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday with a service to follow at 10 a.m. Wednesday, both at the Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service Chapel in Tulsa. www.schaudtfuneralservice.com
