Alexis L. Lau, the son of both Bensen and Lucila Lau, died of organ failure on December 1st at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Alexis was married twice in his life, his first wife was Rosa Holm. They had a son by the name of David Lau. He eventually divorced and remarried another woman by the name of Mirna Lau, where he had his second son by the name of Mark Lau. Mirna had a daughter from her previous relationship by the name of Amy Alvarez. Alexis also had two sisters by the name of Lourdes and Sonia that he loved so much.
My dad was a kind and caring person that loved to see others smile and grow. He grew up in Havana, Cuba where he loved going to the beach to swim and enjoy the beautiful scenery. He loved fishing, playing baseball, and riding horses. He eventually moved from Cuba to the U.S. and lived in Los Angeles, California for a good portion of his life.
I will always remember him taking me to the Dodger baseball games, we had so much fun. My dad always wanted to give my family and I the best quality of life and he never failed to deliver on his promises. He was a man of God. He would always take us to church so we could hear the praise and worship. He pushed me to always pursue my dreams and never give up. He took education very seriously, and if it weren't for him, I would not be the man I am today with the knowledge I have now. He impacted so many around him by helping and going out of his way. The thing I loved the most about my dad was his character.
He was a child at heart and always would joke around and want to do silly things. He was my best friend and someone that would always listen to my problems with patience and understanding. He collected toys and baseball cards that we both loved to admire. He also had a passion for cars. He taught me how to work on them and took me to all kinds of car events in the area. My dad showed me all the great and fun things that life has to offer and I will always be grateful for that. I am sad that he is gone but also happy that he is in a better place watching over me and everyone he loved. You will always be in our hearts. I love you dad! Until we meet again!
