Alberta Conkin

Alberta Conkin, nee Hallman, 102, currently living at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Weatherford, and formerly of Thomas and Checotah, passed away on October 29, 2015.

She and her husband, Joe, married 74 years, owned and operated the Holiday Cove Boat Storage in Checotah for nearly 40 years after Joe’s retirement from Mobil Oil Co.
Alberta has been reunited with her husband, Joe, her sons Jack and Don, and her daughter Margret Bowles.

Surviving are her daughter Dorothy of Smithton, Illinois, her daughter-in-law Carol of Thomas, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Ashley Morris, P.A., and the staff of both Brookdale Senior Living Center and Shepherd Hospice of Clinton for the care they provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shepherd’s Hospice of Clinton, 525 S. 30th Street, Clinton, Oklahoma 73601.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service with Reverend Everett Lerch officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Okmulgee Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service.
