Richard David Blankenship

Richard David Blankenship Sr, longtime Kiefer resident passed from this life on Friday April 15, 2022, at St Francis Hospital in Tulsa at the age of 75 years.
He was born July 18, 1946, in Sapulpa to Clarence Oliver and Mary Dove (Piper) Blankenship. He married Marsha Lynn (McKelvey) on Dec 17, 1966. They lived in Kiefer their entire married lives where they raised their three children.
He was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Army. He worked in the oil field throughout his life, but his passion was the auction. His love for the auction began in 1986 when he started Bixby Auction. After being out of the auction business for a few years, he returned to his passion, auctioneering. Rick worked hard running his business, Sapulpa Auction Co. He enjoyed going to sales and auctions looking for deals with his grandson Colt.

He was a loving husband and father. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant more to him than anything. He was their biggest supporter, showing up at all their activities. Rick enjoyed any reason to get the family together.
He was preceded in death by parents Clarence Oliver and Mary Dove, sister Wanda Piper and Brother-in-Law Jimmie Piper, sister Janice Ramsey and sister Sandra Whittle.

He is survived by wife Marsha, children Richard Blankenship Jr of Tulsa, Lori Shadowens and husband Mark of Kiefer, Chad Blankenship and wife Shelley of Kiefer, granddaughter Alexys Mefford and husband Daniel of Kiefer, grandson Marcus Shadowens and Tyler Norfleet of Kiefer, grandson Colt Blankenship and Savannah Lee of Kiefer, granddaughter Kinley Blankenship of Kiefer, grandson Caleb Blankenship of Kiefer, great-grandchildren Drew Mefford, Parker Mefford and Mallory Shadowens of Kiefer, brother Paul Blankenship and wife Lavon of Nashville, sister Betty Taylor of Mounds, Bonnie Stoklasa and husband Frank of Choctaw, sister Joan Wilson and husband Dan of Morris, sister Vicki Blazek of Okmulgee, sister Barbara Jones of Broken Arrow. great-grandchildren Drew Riley, Parker Lane and Mallory Jade.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service, 719 E. 141st, Glenpool, OK 74033.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Faith Church, 1901 W. 171st Street, Glenpool, OK 74033 with Vernon Howard officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at South Heights Cemetery in Sapulpa.

The Pallbearers are Marcus Shadowens, Colt Blankenship, Caleb Blankenship, Daniel Mefford, Dalton Ray, and Darron Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers are Delbert Ray, Wayne Golightly, Chris Ingley, Steve Robinson, Leroy Harrison, and Bo Carter.
