Maurice M. Smith age 90 passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Grace Living Centers in Jenks, Oklahoma. Maurice was born January 8, 1923 in Wapella, Illinois to Paul M. Smith and Lydia M. (Irwin) Smith. He spent three years in the United States Army during World War II. He received the following decorations and citations: Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, 2 service stripe and 5 overseas service bars. Maurice married the love of his life, Victoria Ann Morris on May 1, 1954 in Westville, Oklahoma. He worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. Maurice was a long time member of Jenks United Methodist Church, Jenks, Oklahoma. Maurice was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Lydia Smith, his three brothers and his wife, Victoria Ann Smith (March 15, 2013) . He is survived by his children: Richard Smith and his wife, Dawn of Sand Springs, Barbara Richardson of Tulsa, Nell Bezinque and her husband, David of Plano, Texas; his grandchildren: Tommy Benzinque, Chad Smith, Michael Richardson, Lea Smith, Benny Bezinque along with other family members and friends. Services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 at Jenks United Methodist Church, 415 E. Main Street, Jenks, Oklahoma. Reverend David Karges will officiate. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C.
