Luther Wayne Polk

Luther Wayne Polk, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, entered into eternal retirement on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at the age of 64. Luther was born on September 3, 1958, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Luther Grayson and Irene Sugar.

Wayne devoted his life to his lord and savior Jesus Christ and attended Calvary Baptist Church. Drawing on this faith he raised 4 boys to be men, by not only being the best father he knew how to be but the best father we could've asked for. He taught us to serve the Lord, work hard, and to provide for and love our family.

While visiting from Arizona he met the love of his life Pamela Dunham. Their journey through life began on January 16, 1981 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma and together they built a strong and loving partnership. Pam was Wayne's rock and provided unwavering support and love throughout their shared years.

Wayne is proceeded in death by his father Luther Grayson, mother Irene Polk, brother Eddie Sugar, and one son Joshy.

Wayne will be sorely missed and is survived by spouse Pam Polk, who stood by his side for better or worse, brother Dewayne Heard (Uncle D), sons Thomas Longnecker and wife Torrey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, John Qualls and wife Treva Cox of Sperry, Oklahoma, Earl Polk and wife Crystal of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grand children, and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins. We will forever cherish the unconditional love, guidance, and discipline that this Man provided.

Luther Wayne Polk will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and sense of humor will endure in the hearts of those who knew him, providing comfort and inspiration in the days to come. May his retirement be Grand, may there be plenty of fish and game (caught by Daddy) at the banquet table of Christ , and may we all find comfort in the memories we shared with him.

We will not forget the many lessons you taught us, you gave us your life, and you will not be forgotten.

A public viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Schaudt Okmulgee Chapel. A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Wayne will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church with a graveside service to follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery.
