Logan died on March 21, 2017, in Tulsa, OK He was born in Syracuse, Kansas, to Henry Charles Boltz and Mildred Hannah Boltz. On September 11, 1977, he married Joyce Graham Frost. Pastor Bill Mason officiated.
Logan was raised on a wheat farm along with his sister, Maurine Boltz Urton. He graduated from Syracuse High School where he played in a small dance band and sometimes was called upon to play taps at military funerals. Although he enjoyed having a private pilot's license while at Syracuse, he didn't pursue flying. He left the farm and came to Tulsa, where he graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics. He then attended Tulsa University where he became a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. During his TU years, he was also a member of ROTC in officer's training.
Logan then married and had two sons. He worked in the Leasing Department in both Amoco and LVO Corporation but eventually retired from Kerr Glass in Sand Springs. At the same time, he also worked part-time in the Credit Department at Sears. Logan was capable of fixing anything; so after retirement, he purchased and maintained 12 rent houses. His last job was working part time as the 'tool guy" at Sutherland's.
Bowling was one of Logan's favorite hobbies. He also enjoyed woodworking, and he could build anything from a tool shed to fine furniture. He was an usher at Asbury Church for several years and sang in the Ambassador's Senior Choir. He spent numerous years patrolling Hoover Neighborhood for the Neighborhood Watch Program. In addition, he was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and a disk jockey for KAKC 970 in Tulsa, OK.
One of the things he enjoyed doing was telling a few jokes at Tweenagers and in his exercise class. He liked the fellowship of the exercise group, perhaps more than the workout itself. He also enjoyed the men's discussion group where he lived and the Romeos from church that met twice a month for lunch. Logan was known as a quiet presence. In his later years, there was one thing he didn't like - wearing a tie. Only Charlene, the choir director, could get him to wear a tie when they sang for an event.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Graham Frost Boltz; his son, Gary Randin Boltz; his son, Jeffery Logan Boltz and his wife, Jayne Janitz Boltz; and a grandson, Joshua Paul Boltz, all of Tulsa; his sister, Maurine Boltz Uron, lives in Syracuse, Kansas. Also surviving are four step children: Susan Rene Frost Bloom and her husband, Dr. Paul Bloom; Colleen Marie Frost Owens and her husband, John; Randy Rex Frost and Roger Keith Frost and his wife, Jodi . There are nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, mostly from Michigan and some from Wisconsin, whom he enjoyed seeing on Facebook. There are too many nieces and nephews to name, but all are precious.
