Floydene Howlett

Floydene Howlett, 70, passed away at home August 7, 2010 surrounded in her final hours by her children. She was born
September 2, 1939 to Richard and Inez (Bell) Smith in Ghoslon, Texas. She entered into her eternal rest after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Flo was proceeded in death by her parents: Richard and Inez; her three brothers Calvin, Richard and Albert; her two sisters: Jo Alice, Eddie Ruth as well as two step-sons: Tommy and Russell. In her early years she was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Gholson, Texas. It was there that she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Prior to becoming ill, Flo was a faithful and active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Flo was a 1959 graduate of Dunbar High-school in West, Texas. She married Elmer Howlett in July 1959 and became the stepmother of Tommy, Russell, Elvin, Nettie, Linda and Billie Jean his children from a previous marriage.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three sons, Terrance and Kierstan Howlett both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; William Howlett of Muskogee, Oklahoma; her three daughters: Sonya Hamilton of Glenpool, Oklahoma; Mona Grant of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Nechia Howlett-Pendleton of Norman, Oklahoma; her sister: Ida Nell Smith of Waco, Texas; her brothers: Paul Smith of Gholson, Texas and Lloyd Henry of Houston, Texas. Her happiest times were spent with her ten grandchildren and her eight great-grandchildren. Flo was a loyal and supportive friend to all who knew her.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service, Glenpool, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church, Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Pastor Scott Gordon will officiate.
