Dennis Jay Mcclary

A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Dr. Dennis Jay McClary, DO will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at St. James United Methodist Church with Dr. Gary Harber officiating.

On March 25, 2019 Dennis Jay McClary went to be with the Lord after thirteen year courageous battle with cancer, he was 60.

Dennis grew up in southeastern Oklahoma where he graduated from Kinta Public Schools and then went on to further his education at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, and Oklahoma Osteopathic College of Medicine.

He completed a residency in Internal Medicine. He married his college sweetheart Laurie, in May 1982, just before starting medical school. They enjoyed 36 years together. Dennis had a love of God, family, lifelong love of learning, his family pets, and was a voracious reader of history and science fiction. His practice of medicine and the care of his patients were his passion.

He was preceded in death by his mother Wanda McClary.

He is survived by his wife Laurie, children Jason (16) and Kaitlyn (16) of the home, his father J.R. McClary and his wife Fern of Mustang, OK, sisters Anna Westrup and her husband David of Piedmont, OK and Jennifer McClary of Mustang, OK, nephews Ryan Westrup and his wife Kara and Jared Westrup and many cousins.
