A Celebration of Life for Cheryl Lynn Dotson will be held on September 4th, 2019 at The First Church of the Nazarene at 1:00 PM in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Cheryl Lynn Dotson of Tulsa, Oklahoma was born January 27,1960 in Stroud, Oklahoma to Sherman and Molly Dotson. She passed after a long battle with illness on August 31, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1978 where she was an avid member of the Okmulgee High School Band as a majorette with fire batons and french horn player. Cheryl was one of the pioneers of the computer technology field, graduating from OSU Okmulgee in the late 1970s. She was long time employee of George Nigh Rehab center, OU Rehab center, and Muscogee (Creek) Nation Rehab center. Cheryl was also a member of the Second Baptist Church in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Cheryl was very proud of her son Brandon while he was in Okmulgee High School Band, and later at the University of Oklahoma. She bought season tickets every year to see him march. She was so proud of his current accomplishments as an Air Traffic Controller. Nothing brought her more joy than seeing her son succeed with the seeds she had planted within him.
Cheryl was very kind and admired in her community. She always took on the role of a mother figure to everyone around her. She was an adored neighbor in her apartment community always ready to invite someone in for some sweets and conversation. She loved collecting hummingbirds and sewing quilts on her sewing machine.
She was proceeded in death by her father Sherman Dotson, brother Darrell Dotson, and brother Kim Dotson.
She is survived by her son Brandon Rodgers and his fiancee Lexi Robertson. Mother Molly Dotson of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Brother Darren Dotson and wife Mary of Tiger Mountain Oklahoma, and a host of nieces and nephews she loved very much.
Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service & Cremation Care Centers.
